AUT University: facts and figures about us

We’re New Zealand’s newest university – but our history in industry-relevant education is over 110 years old. A detailed timeline of our pedigree is on the AUT History page.

We have nearly 24,000 students across 3 campuses in Auckland, Manukau and North Shore cities.

Teaching and research – study areas for the changing world
We reflect the emerging environments and industries - whatever the area of study. Our qualifications and research are focused on fields within:

  • Applied Humanities
  • Business and Law
  • Design and Creative Technologies
  • Health and Environmental Sciences
  • Maori Development

Degree pathways
Our study areas provide pathways from bachelors to masters and doctoral degrees. And we have a range of pre-degree entry points for students who need to prepare for degree-level study.

The Study Areas section has course details for our 200-plus degrees, diplomas and certificates.
