Wānanga series for postgraduate students

The aim of the Wānanga series is to build a culture of support for postgraduate Māori and Pacific students across AUT, and to foster a network of collaboration to support these students through their postgraduate journey.

Please liaise with your Faculty Equity Coordinator or Associate Dean Postgraduate to determine if there are any faculty-specific activities planned for each of the Wānanga weekends. Where there are no faculty specific activities, students are invited to undertake self-directed learning.

Venue and parking

Venue: Ngā Wai O Horotiu Marae, AUT City Campus

Parking is not available on the marae. The closest parking building is the WO building carpark at 56 Wakefield Street, where parking is available for a nominal fee.

How to register

It's important that you register if you intend to attend. We need this information to finalise catering. Saturday lunch and dinner, and Sunday breakfast and lunch are provided (subject to registration and confirmation of attendance).

Arranging accommodation for the Wānanga series

  • Accommodation is available on the marae on the Saturday evening (subject to registration)
  • You need to provide your own linen etc
  • All attendees should be Māori or Pacific postgraduate students at AUT
  • Unfortunately we can't accommodate children as we don't have crèche facilities
