Student lounges and areas
There are multiple student lounges and areas on AUT campuses where you can study, relax or work on group assignments. There are also areas for quieter activities like reflection, meditation or praying, as well as the AUT Ngā Wai o Horotiu Marae, whānau spaces, fono rooms and rooms for breastfeeding.

City Campus

WC202, AUTSA Club Space

Facilities: couches, computers, chairs, study tables
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am - 4.30pm

AUT wants to support mothers who are breastfeeding while studying or working at AUT.

Fono rooms

AUT has a number of fono rooms on campus for Pacific students, which you are welcome to use for studying, group assignments or just relaxing.

AUT Ngā Wai o Horotiu Marae serves as a whānau, cultural and spiritual centre. Ngā Wai o Horotiu Marae is one of the ways in which AUT actively acknowledges the importance of the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and expresses our deeply held belief that AUT is a centre of learning not only for all peoples, but also a particular place where Māori have a special and distinct role. AUT Ngā Wai o Horotiu Marae is a place where you can stand proud.

Multifaith rooms

Multifaith rooms are for students and staff of all faith groups to use for prayer, meditation, reflection or faith-based workshops. The City Campus room is WB112 and the North Campus room is AP102. The rooms can be booked for regular times, or can be used for drop-in during non-booked times.

Muslim prayer rooms

A Muslim prayer room is available on the City Campus (room at rear of WW building) and North Campus (AP112A) for AUT Muslim students and staff. The rooms have separate spaces for men and women, and washroom facilities.

Whānau spaces

AUT has a number of rest, recreation and study spaces for Māori students.
