AUT Fashion - The Evolving Designer

Exhibition runs 12pm - 8pm daily from 31 March to 2 April.

Heart of the City presents 4 Days of Fashion in the City. The Evolving Designer celebrates AUT's emerging fashion designers. The exhibition consists of collections from our final year fashion students, the class of 2016, and a group of AUT fashion postgraduates known as the Creative Common Occupation (CCO). 

   


 

Make Space: The Visibility Project

From 8pm on Thursday 23 February St Paul St Gallery will be hosting FAFSWAG Arts Collective's Make Space: The Visibility Project, a projection on the exterior of the Gallery building.

This is the third of four large-scale site specific projections taking place around the city (full list of venues below), which set out to create visibility for Pacific LGBTIQ communities during Auckland's celebration of diversity and Pride. Through Make Space artists occupy the city centre with their stories, looking at what it means to celebrate civic identity when you identify as a gender and sexually diverse person of colour.

Speaking, reading, writing, research: each may be understood as a gesture of self-definition, as part of an unfolding autobiographical narrative. The things we talked about looks at a series of models of narration, reading and dialogue, and at the relationships and subjectivities and embedded in these.

This year's show will be an experimental audio visual feast - a fusion of live models, film, video projections and a music score commissioned especially for the show.

 

Toki does New York

Toki Does New York is a documentary by Dan Salmon, about visiting artist Hye Rim Lee. Produced by Octopus Pictures, the film has been cut by the award-winning editor Tim Woodhouse, and shot by commercials DOP Ben Freedman with an original soundtrack composed and performed by Jed Town. It has been made for TVNZ’s Artsville, with the support of NZ On Air.

Animation Revelations is a four-day animation forum and festival. The event brings together Auckland-based production companies, industry organisations, tertiary educators, students, and independents to look at and discuss animation.
