Congratulations to Sarah Trotman, who was made an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit in the recently announced New Year Honours. Sarah, Director Business Relations, was recognised for her services to business and the community.
Sarah has been with the AUT Business School since 2011, deepening our networks with the business community, but her connection to AUT goes back to 2002 when she was an Advisory Board Member for the AUT Business Incubator. She continues to be an active business mentor to SMEs and budding entrepreneurs.
Her passion for giving back to the community led her to support Lifewise and their aim to end homelessness. She helped establish and has participated in each of the seven ‘Big Sleepout’ events organised by Lifewise and remains one of their largest fundraisers. Her strong belief is that when an opportunity presents itself to make the world a better place – SEIZE IT. Watch a video of her experience from the 2010 Sleepout.
Sarah says being recognised as an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to Business and the Community is a deep honour and that it is also recognition of the many wonderful organisations and people she has worked with over many years, including her colleagues at AUT.
In addition to her role at the Business School, she has recently commenced as the Chair of AUT Women on Campus. Women on Campus is a group that works towards enhancing the experience of women working at AUT.
