Research Committee

Roles and Responsibilities

The Faculty of Business and Law Research Committee supports the strategic development and operation of research within the Faculty.

The Committee has a number of core functions, including:

  • To assist in the development and enhancement of a Faculty-wide research culture
  • To review, assess and decide upon applications to the Faculty's contestable research fund from Faculty colleagues seeking financial support for research projects and proposals for Visiting Research Fellows (subject to the Associate Dean Research’s support and the Dean of Faculty’s ultimate approval)
  • To promote the publication of research in high quality, peer-reviewed outlets
  • To promote the generation of external research funds for the benefit of the Faculty and University
  • To promote and support the development and maintenance of Faculty based research centres and groups
  • To monitor, review and assess research activities within the Faculty of Business and Law
  • To provide input into the development of Faculty research strategies
  • To guide, inform, monitor and support, without prejudice, the research activities in the Faculty’s schools and departments.
