Welcome to Research in the School of Communication Studies. We are committed to innovative, critical and creative research that advances knowledge, serves the community, and develops future communication experts and skilled media practitioners. In our School there is a dynamic interaction between communication theory and media practice across digital media, creative industries, film and television production advertising, radio, public relations, and journalism.  We have expertise in areas such as Asia-Pacific media, journalism theory, political economy of the media, multi-modal analysis, media performance theory, political and environmental communication. Research can be conducted through our PhD degree and also the Master of Philosophy and the Master of Communication Studies degrees, as well as at Postgraduate Diploma and Honours levels.
