Public Relations

Public Relations is a dynamic and engaging field of research, and it is increasingly challenging taken-for-granted paradigms, theories and practices. As educators and researchers, we are interested in the relevance of existing theories and practices, and finding ways to make them more meaningful. We bring to the table diverse backgrounds, the ability to work interdisciplinary and an in-depth understanding of the industry (globally and locally). Our aim is to continuously push the boundaries of what we know and do whilst remaining focused on Public Relations.

Our team is currently exploring areas such as:
Communication technologies
Communication theories
Crisis communication
Culture and public relations
Dialogue and persuasion
Media ecology
Public relations practitioner roles
Applied public relations education
Reputation, identity and image
Relationships in public relations
Social media and social media crises
Strategic communication
Global virtual teams
Visual communication and public relations
