Develop the skills and knowledge for further studies and your future career in sport and recreation. The Diploma in Sport and Recreation is a pathway for students who completed Year 12 and want to enter a tertiary programme that helps them gain UE. It covers a broad range of skills, including coaching, programme and event management, the body's response to exercise, quality service and supervision.
This programme is only open for applications from students who are currently studying the Certificate in Sport and Recreation.

English language requirements
Students for whom English or Māori is not their first language are required to provide evidence of an IELTS score of 5.5 overall (academic module) with all bands 5.0 or higher (or equivalent) before they can enrol into the Diploma in Sport and Recreation.
For students who do not have the required level of English language skills, the School of Sport and Recreation and AUT International House have joined in partnership to provide the Certificate in English for Academic Study
You develop key skills in coaching and event management, as well as supervisory and practical industry skills.
