Learning Environment

As a student at Te Ara Poutama, you have access to the latest facilities and software. Develop high-quality audio-visual apps and iBooks in our dual boot lab, and produce top notch film footage and sound recordings using the latest recording hardware and software.

You'll also have access to Ngā Wai o Horotiu marae, which is the heart for Māori at AUT, offering whānau hospitality in the big city.

Ngā Wai o Horotiu - AUT Marae

Ngā Wai o Horotiu serves as a whānau, cultural and spiritual centre. The marae expresses our deeply held belief that AUT is a centre of learning for all peoples, and a place where Māori have a special and distinct role. Te Ara Poutama is situated next door to Ngā Wai o Horotiu affirming tikanga Māori in the university's environment.

Te Ara Poutama has eight scholarships specifically for undergraduate students in Māori media and Māori development. You may also be eligible for scholarships for Māori students and general scholarships for students studying AUT degree and postgraduate qualifications.
